Stockport Radio Society was formed in 1920 and is one of the oldest radio clubs in the United Kingdom, the club is based in Stockport approx 7 miles south of the City of Manchester in the North West of England. Members include Short-Wave listeners, airband enthusiasts and people who enjoy building and experimenting with radio projects. Meetings which begin at 1945 hrs (7:45pm) are held twice a month from their new venue at the headquarters of Stockport Sea Cadets, Pear Mill Trading Est which is about 2 miles from the town centre. From time to time the club also puts on special event stations and participates in Amateur Radio Contests, Field Days etc.
