2005 Marine Corp Marathon Call for VolunteersFrom: Howard Cunningham, WD5DBC
Hi Gang.... ( and apologies if some of you get this email twice) This email was sent to the volunteers from 2004 (Thanks for your effort last year) as well as the ECs, and ASECs. It is that time of year again to start the planning for the 2005 Marine Corp Marathon to be held on Sunday October 30, 2005. This year it looks like we will be needing about 150 operators ( 25 more than last year ). Soo... if you would like to volunteer again this year, please go to www.ncacdc.com and click the SIGN UP HERE link. Please do not email me directly to volunteer. Also for those of you that have arrl.net net addresses, please give me your direct email address and not the arrl.net address. For spam reasons, the ARRL limits the number of emails that they allow through the server at a time which makes it hard for me to email all 150 or so volunteers. We will be needing all sorts of operators: APRS-Portable, APRS-Monitors (with projectors), Packet-Medical, VHF Race Net, UHF Medical Net, Bicycles, Liaisons, Shadows for officials (new this year), Talk-in stations, net controls for 7 nets/subnets, Start/Finish, ATV ( anyone interested ), Top Doc, PrimeMed and probably some that I am forgetting. Would you also pass this email onto your local club or anyone that you know that might be interested in volunteering. Ron/Brad can we get this on the Virginia Section web site? Cathy can you pass this onto other DEC/ECs in your region? 73s and see you on the course WD5DBC |
