Greetings, 2006 will soon be upon us, so don't hesitate to sign-up as a volunteer now and avoid the big rush later. What the heck, just thought I'd take a shot at it. My thanks to everyone who contacted me offering your time as a volunteer, and to those who presented their ideas to help make Celebrate Fairfax '05 a big success; and, that it was. While attendance seemed to be down from last year, and our assigned tent location left some to be desired, visitor traffic past our ARES display was steady, and all seemed very pleased with our demonstrations. The Fairfax County Office of Emergency Management, The Citizen Corps of Fairfax County. and I thank you once again for all your help. 73, Paul P.S. The next big one? June 10th, 11th, and 12th, 2006. To all the gracious members who volunteered to staff our joint OEM / Citizen Corps / ARES tent, THANKS! When you arrive at the Government Center Grounds and call me at the booth on 146.415 simplex, please try to recall what color gate the bus has dropped you off at; Yellow, Blue, Red, or Green. If you have some attire with an ARES logo on it, please bring it along or wear it. (Name tag, hat, shirt, socks; whatever.) Thanks again. Paul, KI4DTL |
