(I Also Hold
The Call SV1KX)
QRP RADIO STATION
Mostly CW operator
Ocassionally operating QRSS or WSPR modes
Why QRP?
•Because i am fan of what is said: QRP = Minimum Power – Maximum Enjoyment
in other words there is a great sense of accomplishment when I make contacts, using very simple transmitters or transceivers, at QRP power levels.
•Because of the easy made SOTA Hi Hi.
•Because I don't mind for S-meter reports or chasing DX stations. The wireless HF communication is enough for me. If the propagation is present and a good antenna is in use, a QRP station can cover the same distances as a QRO station.
•Because I like homebrew projects and QRP kits.
Why CW?
•Simply because i like the CW sound especially when is coming from a straight key or a cootie. I don't count dots and dashes. I hear each letter as a whole specific sound.
•I like CW because it is a fun and for sure an effective operating mode.
•By using Q-codes and abreviations it is possible to carry on a QSO, without language barriers.
•Disturbing free mode. Just plug in your headphones.
And..
•Is Morse dead? Certainly not! Ham bands are full of cw transmissions and some countries still use CW for coded messages composed of groups of five characters.
•VOR's and NDB's and other NAVAIDS use CW for identification.
•Three thinks I like less in CW: Not adapting the cw speed according to the QRM/QRN conditions or capabilities of the fellow operator, bad keying and PC keyboard generated CW (Automated cw sound is neat and no melodic).
