DXCC card checking at AGM in Bad Bentheim

We will have Theo Koning PB7CW as ARRL DXCC Field checker at our Annual Meeting in Bad Bentheim on 26 August. Theo will check and register QSL-cards for the ARRL DXCC-program, without you having to send the cards to the USA. There are some limitations though. Basically these limitations can be found at http://www.arrl.org/awards/dxcc/rules.html#siv

The maximum number of cards to be checked is 120 per callsign. This to give everyone a fair chance to have their cards checked especially for first time applicants.

Registration: Please send an e-mail with the number of cards you would like to have checked to [email protected] You will receive a confirmation from Theo PB7CW.

Please bring you application form to be downloaded at http://www.arrl.org/awards/dxcc/ under DXCC Forms.

Montenegro new DXCC entity

On 28 June 2006 the United Nations General Assembly decided to admit Montenegro as the 192nd Member State of the United Nations. In response to this decision the ARRL announced that Montenegro will count for DXCC
purposes effective 0001 UTC on 28 June.

Starting 20 July the first real amateur activity will start from this new entity. An attempt to break the world QSO record for a DXpedition will be made. EUDXF is a principal sponsor for this event. Those interested to participate should check http://www.yu6scg.cg.yu

VU4AN QSLs in Friedrichshafen

Babs DL7AFS did a great job at the EUDXF stand at Ham Radio in Friedrichshafen distributing QSL's of the Andaman Island expedition by VU4AN/VU3SID and VU4AN/VU3SIG.

www.eudxf.eu

A real European foundation like EUDXF should show its sympathy with the new top level domain ".eu". This is why our website now can also be reached via www.eudxf.eu (in addition to .org and .de).
We are also able to issue e-mail addresses with the new domain. Members who want to use this service should get in contact with DF3EC at [email protected]

RSGB HF Convention

Many DX-ers attended the RSGB HF Convention on 8-9 October. Also three of our EUDXF ambassadors Rag LA5HE, Jukka OH2BR and Dick PA3FQA were present. On the picture PA3FQA, G3XTT and OH2BR.

Annual Meeting 2005

Our 2005 annual meeting was held on 27 August 2005 in Hotel Berkemeyer in Bad Bentheim. Of course we had to go through the mandatory agenda items like the financial report. This could be kept as short as possible and the program continued with more interesting items.

  • Disaster relief: Victor 4S7VK held a very interesting presentation on the work done by the Radio Society of Sri Lanka after the Tsunami of 26 December 2006. We were very glad to have the winner of the Golden Antenna of the City of Bad Bentheim in our middle.

DJ9ON - PB2T - 4S7VK - DF3EC - PA3FQA

  • Expedition Report by Hawa DK9KX on the TX9 DX-pedition to Chesterfield Island.

  • Briefing on Early Access in the segment 7100-7200 kHz.

Kure Atoll K7C

A multi-disciplinary expedition to Kure Atoll, the northernmost Hawaiian atoll, was carried out during September-October, 2005 and made about 52k QSO's. More information at http://www.cordell.org/htdocs/KURE/

We were very pleased to have have our picture taken with Bharathi VU2RBI who found an opportunity to come to thank us for out contribution to the VU4-expedition. Several new members were welcomed and many renewed their subscription. Thanks to the stand crew DF3EC Achim, DJ6SI Baldur, LA5HE Ragnar, PA0JED Jan, PA0R Rein and his XYL Nicoletta,  PA3FQA Dick, PB2T Hans and PC2T Jan who all did a tremendous job promoting EUDXF.

Small EUDXF flags

Last year Leo DL4NBE surprised us with flags with he EUDXF logo. Leo did not lean back during the past year and some weeks ago he again surprised us: this time with some smaller flags especially designed as easy to carry for DXpeditions. The flags can be borrowed for free. All you need to do is to contact PB2T. The flags made of high quality waterproof fabric are also for sale. The price is € 15 each plus € 5 for postage and handling. Well done Leo and thank you very much.
