DX-News

WEST MALAYSIA, 9M2.  Tex, 9M2TO is QRV as 9M2TO/p from Perhentian
Island, IOTA AS-073, until May 18.  Activity is on 40 to 10 meters,
including the newer bands.  QSL via JA0DMV.  Meanwhile, Ian, G3TMA
is QRV as 9M2/G3TMA from Pulau Ketam, IOTA AS-074, until May 18.
QSL via operator's instructions.

TAIWAN, BV.  BV9AAC is QRV from Penghu Island, IOTA AS-103, and has
been active on 15 meters around 1400z.  QSL via BV2KI.

PORTUGAL, CT.  Special event station CT1RVM/p will be QRV May 18
from the Portuguese Air Force Museum.  Activity will be on 40, 20,
15 and 10 meters using SSB.  QSL via bureau.
                        
BALEARIC ISLANDS, EA6.  Peter, DL8YR is active as EA6/DL8YR/p until
May 28.  This includes an entry in the CQ WPX CW contest.  QSL to
home call.

ITALY, I.  Vanni, IK4RUX will be QRV as IG9/IK4RUX from Lampedusa,
IOTA AF-019, from May 17 to 23.  He plans to also operate from the
lighthouse at Capo Grecale.  QSL via home call.

DOMINICA, J7.  George, K5KG will be active as J75KG from May 20 to
29.  Activity will be on all HF bands using CW and SSB.  He also
plans to be QRV as J75A in the CQ WPX CW contest.  QSL via KU9C.

NETHERLAND ANTILLES, PJ.  Jim, WI9WI will be QRV as PJ2WI from
Signal Hill in Curacao from May 21 to 27.  QSL to home call.

BRAZIL, PY.  Look for PU2OCZ, PY2HN and PY2ZX to be QRV as PV2AA
from Comprida Island, IOTA SA-024, on May 17 and 18.  Activity will
be on 160 to 2 meters using CW, SSB and FM.  QSL via PY2AA.

SAO TOME AND PRINCIPE, S9.  Duarte, CT1CPP is QRV as S92UN for about
three more months.  He is active on 40, 17, 15 and 12 meters,
generally starting around 2100z.  QSL to home call.

TURKEY, TA.  Metin, TA1ED is QRV as TA1ED/0 from Kekova Island, IOTA
AS-115.  Activity is on 80 to 10 meters using SSB.  QSL to home
call.

BERMUDA, VP9.  Merv, N6NO is QRV as N6NO/VP9 until May 21.  Activity
is on 80 to 10 meters, and possibly 160 meters, using mostly CW.
QSL to home call.

CHAGOS ISLAND, VQ9.  Larry, VQ9LA has been QRV using RTTY on 20
meters starting around 2200z.  He will be here for about a year.
QSL via WD0HSP.

MACEDONIA, Z3.  Lothar, DJ7ZG and Babs, DL7AFS are QRV as Z38Z for
about 10 days.  Activity is on 160 to 6 meters, using mainly SSB,
RTTY and PSK31.  QSL via DL7AFS.

ST. HELENA, ZD7.  Desmond, ZD7DP continues to be QRV using RTTY on
20 meters around 1900z.  QSL via W1ZT.

THE 39th BALTIC CONTEST BC-2003
General rules

The Lithuanian Radio Sports Federation has the honor to invite radio
amateurs all over the world to enter Baltic Contest 2003.

1. Aim of the BC: To promote radio sport in the Baltic countries and to
expand relations between  amateurs of the Baltic and the world. 

2. The object of BC: To establish as many contacts as possible with amateur
stations world wide. 

3. Period:  From 2100z May 17, 2003 till 0200z May 18, 2003.  

4. Sections:  
A - single operator, CW/SSB 
B - single operator, CW 
C - single operator, SSB 
D - multi operator, single TX 
E - SWL 
5. Frequencies:  CW (3510-3600) kHz, SSB (3600-3650 and 3700-3750) kHz. 

6. Contest call:  CW - TEST BC, SSB - CQ Baltic Contest

7. Exchange: RS(T) and serial number starting from 001.Each station may be
worked once in SSB and once in CW. 

8. Scoring:  For participants in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania each QSO (SWL
rprt) with Europe counts 1 point and QSO (SWL rprt) with another continent
counts 2 points. For participants in Europe each QSO (SWL rprt) with
Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania counts 10 points, each QSO with another
participants counts 1point. For participants outside Europe each QSO (SWL
rprt) with ES, YL, LY counts 20 points, each QSO with another participants
counts 1 point. SWL rprt must contain both call signs and at least one of
the control numbers. 

9. Final Score: The sum of QSO (SWL rprt) points(no multiplier, no duplicate
QSO (SWL rprt). When the number of points is equal,the criteria for priority
are: for better percentage of QSO (SWL rprt) confirmation;  for more DX QSO
(SWL rprt).

10. Awards: Certificates will be awarded to the leading stations of each
section for every country (DXCC) in accordance with the number of
participants. Winners in A, B, C, D, E sections in the Baltic countries (ES,
LY, YL), in the Europe and outside Europe will receive trophies.
