The
Amateur Radio provides many different avenues for enjoyment, as well as the opportunity to be involved with much needed Public Service in times of emergency. The club has members that are knowledgeable in many of the different specialty fields such as Digital, Contesting, DX, SSTV and Emergency Services, and can provide advice and support to others in their specialty.
The club participates every June in "Field Day", which is a time where many Hams around the country set up their equipment in the field, and practice their Emergency Skills, show the public what Amateur Radio is all about, and generally "have fun" with their hobby.
The club owns and maintains a 2 Meter repeater, and has members that participate in ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) activities as well as MARS (Military Affiliate Radio System).
We would like to invite anyone interested in Amateur Radio to come to our meetings. You do not have to be a member, or a licensed Ham, to participate. Come let us get to know you, and enjoy our hospitality. We don't bite, and are mostly harmless!
