Minutes of Feb Meeting

13 members present, meeting commenced @ 1938

Sick or Injured Amateurs:

Motion:   Adopt minutes of the last meeting as read. Moved
          VE7TMG, Seconded VE7 LOC.  Carried

OLD BUSINESS:

VE7CRJ    Revised bingo budget was approved.  Bingo audit
          received, distributed to members at the meeting.

VE7CRJ    Ham course to be held March 27 & 28 @ Cranbrook Health
          Centre.  8 - 5 pm Sat, 8 - 2 Sunday.  Cost $120.

VE7CRJ    CRJ & SKT were interviewed by Shaw cable 2 weeks ago
          and the show will be aired sometime soon.

VE7CRJ    The club insurance was paid.

VE7CRJ    Morse Code practice is being rebroadcast on 146.52
          Tuesday and Thursday nights for interested persons.

VE7CRj    VE7TMG volunteered to let his name stand for Vice
          President, no volunteers as yet for president.

VE7LOC    Moved a vote of thanks be given to Joe, VE7CRJ for all
          his work on behalf of the club, as well as VE7CRJ and
          VE7OG for post meeting activity organization.  VE7TED
          seconded.

VE7OG     Motorola Syntor 24 channel 60 watt radios may be
          available from crown assets and we may be able to
          release them for $40 - $60 to club members.

VE7BGO    MIR mirror was tried but failed.  The idea was to light
          up Siberia during the winter night, but the Mylar
          mirror got tangled on deployment and was allowed to
          burn up on re-entry.

VE7NEK    MIR was transmitting SSTV pictures.  NEK receives SSTV
          using the sound card audio in/out in his computer and
          would be willing to share his info with interested
          persons.

          Insurance paid was $750.00
          Church basement    $ 90.00

NEW BUSINESS:

VE7OG     Pamphlet for interference methods and techniques
          available for interested persons at the meeting.

VE7CRJ    The next Bingo is February 20th, and March 20th.
          Interested volunteers to show up at the Bingo Hall at
          noon.

VE7LOC    Next month VE7TMG will demonstrate how to program newer
          hand helds to use CTSC codes in different ways.  All
          members to bring their hand held and the manual.

VE7NEK    WE are now going to be affiliated as a club with the
          national organization, RAC.  There will be no extra
          cost.

NOTE:     VE7OG presented an excellent and very thorough
          soldering/desoldering demonstration with many tips and
          hints on how to do it properly, instead of the way I've
          always done it!  Thank you Reg.
