APRIL 14, 1998, @ 1934 HRS HELD AT MT. BAKER SR. SEC., CRANBROOK BC.

14 MEMBERS PRESENT, NO SICK OR INJURED AMATEURS.

MOTION To adopt as ammended the minutes of last months meeting, VE7LOC seconded VE7ESW. Carried

VE7TED introduced Judy (VE7FID) and Bruce VE7BOG as new members from the recent class held in Cranbrook.

CORRESPONDENCE

* from the BC Association of Charitable Gaming  people who are initiating a law suit against the BC government and want our support. No action.

* from the Children's Festival wanting our services as security the night before.

* from the BC Amateur Coordination Council

* from the Creston Amateur Radio Club advising of their swap meet May 15th.

* from the Spokane Club ham fest. Aug 1 & 2.

* from Industry Canada (our CAP,IP,PAC & REK licenses)

OLD BUSINESS

VE7NEK Homes Insurance bill received and paid.

VE7NEK The repeater controller prices have gone up from $325 to $443 due to various factors.

MOTION VE7ERU seconded by VE7TED that "the controllers necessary be purchases". Carried.

VE7CRJ (notes) Nothing heard from Golden re: permits on Mt. Seven site.

NEW BUSINESS

MOTION VE7NEK seconded VE7ESW "to renew Frequency Coordinators council fees for 1 year". Carried.

VE7PJ Volunteers needed to man the Children's festival site May 9th, 1998 on a shift basis. VE7BGO & VE7ESW volunteered the first shift. No one came up with a trailor or motorhome to volunteer to use as a base.

MOTION VE7TED seconded VE7LOC to purchase the necessary two pairs each of xtals for the repeaters for Jubilee, Lookout, Fernie and Hall mountain. Carried.

VE7PJ Audit committee needed to audit our books. VE7MEL and VE7ERU volunteered.

VE7LOC Videos from RAC ordered, 2 on their way, 3 on back order.

VE7PJ Notice of the annual dinner April 25th, 1830, @ Inn of the South.

VE7TED Congratulations to VE7LOC and VE7OG for the fine course completed recently resulting in 13 new hams in the area.

VE7ERV June meeting at Georges place at Baynes lake as usual.

VE7BGO Report on Mir as to the 145.985 packet activities.
