OLD BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES:

VE7LOC Volunteers needed for the RCMP Musical Ride, 5pm Sept 17th. Reception after at the Kimberley Curling Rink.

NEW BUSINESS:

VE7SKT Report on the IRLP system proposal tabled.

MOTION: The EKARC authorize the establishment of an IRLP link in partnership with Rockies.net to a value of $500 by Oct 15^th. Moved VE7SKT, Sec VE7PST. Carried..

VE7LOC Initiated a discussion on the viability vs cost of the phone patch. An alternative system in someone's home was discussed to save cost. The potential value as an emergency contact system was raised.

MOTION: We approach Joe to repair/improve the patch to determine it's effectiveness as an emergency contact system and review its potential at the November meeting. Moved VE7ERG, sec. VE7SKT. Carried.

VE7LOC EKARC is shrinking and new members are urgently needed. The number of members dues are no longer paying for fixed costs. We have only 37 paid up members at present. LOC is willing to make up and present a quality road show to present to intermediate grade students who will then take home an information sheet offering a father/mother son/daughter course to bolster our membership.

MOTION: The EKARC grant up to $200 to LOC to get a course promotion plan up and running. Moved VE7PST, sec VE7NEK. Carried.
