MINUTES OF THE EAST KOOTENAY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

 

Oct. 9, 2001 Held at the King's Chapel, Highway 95a & Wycliff Rd.   10 members present.

OLD BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES:

 

VE7SKT     A sound card will need to be purchased for the IRLP computer, and it's possible to link up to the repeater with a VHF link directly from the 6 mile facility avoiding a second radio up on Baker Mtn.

 

VE7LOC     A new ham course is on hold until the IRLP link is up and running.

 

VE7CRJ      The phone patch radio on the hill is in need of fixing and as soon as the test set is repaired it will be fixed.

NEW BUSINESS:

 

VE7KD       We are in need of another approved examiner in the East Kootenays. 

 

MOTION: The EKARC needs another approved examiner and endorses VE7LOC for that role.  Moved VE7KD, Sec VE7ERG.  Carried..

 

VE7LOC      Regarding QRM on the repeater, there appear to be a couple of people interfering deliberately with our repeater, the best advice is to not respond, just note the time for future reference so we can try and determine a pattern.  Two radios have been stolen in the past while, from Creston and Slocan Ridge.

 

VE7LOC     The Bingo on Saturday will need some volunteers.  1 pm.
