Annual BBQ Meeting - June 08, 2004

 

Held at the Home of VE7LOC, Cranbrook BC.  14 members present. Chair: VE7CRJ

MINUTES

MOTION: Adopt the minutes of the previous meeting as circulated and corrected.

Moved VE7TED Seconded VE7NEK. Carried.

 

CORRESPONDENCE:

-         A Thankyou letter for our assistance with the Children’s Festival.

 

BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES:

 

VE7SKT          -    Request for pictures that could be used for the Field Day publicity.

                        -    The next PEP training session will be at VE7CRJ’s home: June 22, 2004 at 7:00 pm

VE7CRJ          -    Will stop at the Nelson office for any new PEP information for the June 22 meeting

VE7LOC         -    Work on a “Ham Shack Tour” will be finalized for September.

MOTION:        Adopt the treasurer’s report as circulated.  Moved VE7NEK Seconded VE7CWM CARRIED.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

VE7ESW         -     Reported that VE7ESW and VE7KD assisted with the Marysville Days Parade

VE7CRJ          -     The Creston repeater has been hit by lightning and should be operating by mid June.

-         The club IRLP node needs work.  VE7CRJ will attend to it.

-         VE7CRJ asked for volunteers for the Accordion Championships in July.

-         Discussion on a Saturday pm club meeting and project session resulted in the first club meeting in September to be held at 2:00pm in VE7CRJ’s shop.

VE7TED          -    Expressed concern over unlicensed use of the repeater.  Discussion resulted in the

     best course of action being to not make contact with the perpetrators as well as to

     inform the licensed amateurs, via the Sunday Net, what call signs were being used.

VE7LOC         -   Expressed concern about revealing via radio that an amateur was away from

     home for an extended time.

VE7CRJ          -  The Jubilee repeater will likely remain at its present location for this year.
