MINUTES OF THE EAST KOOTENAY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

 

Feb. 12th , 2002 Held at the King's Chapel, Highway 95a & Wycliff Rd.   12 members present. 

 

SICK OR INJURED AMATEURS:  None.

 

MOTION: Adopt the minutes of the previous meeting as read.  Moved VE7FID, Seconded VE7ERG  Carried..

 

CORRESPONDENCE: Nothing new.

                                                           

OLD BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES:

 

VE7LOC     Discussion around offering a formal course.  Consensus was to put a course on hold till interest increases.

 

VE7LOC     The auxiliary examiner application is still in limbo.

 

VE7CRJ      The next bingo is March 30th.  We now have a certificate of affiliation and we will receive approximately $5000 and have to put in 5 hrs of participation.

MOTION:  Adopt the treasurer's report as read.  Moved VE7NEK, Sec. VE7ERG.  CARRIED.

 


NEW BUSINESS:

 

MOTION:   To open an ING Direct savings account for the $6000 term deposit by sending them a cheque for $100 to open the account.  Moved VE7NEK, Seconded VE7HH.  CARRIED.

 

VE7LOC      The next bingo is in March.  There is a bingo meeting this Thursday which Joe, VE7CRJ will attend and report back from next meeting.

 

VE7LOC               A volunteer is needed to organize the annual dinner. VE7NEK will organize the event.

 

MOTION:   The EKARC will hold an annual banquet.  Moved VE7ERG, Seconded VE7BMW.  CARRIED.

 

VE7LOC     Notice that the elections for club officers will be held during the April meeting.  Nominations will be held in the February meeting. 

 

VE7SKT      Selkirk scholarships have been brought up by the school and they want to know if we will be sponsoring them again this year.

 

MOTION:   The EKARC will continue with the scholarships to Selkirk school this year as before.  Moved VE7SKT Seconded VE7BMW.  DEFEATED.

 

VE7CRJ      The West Kootenay club is putting a new repeater together and need a duplexer.  We have one.  Consensus followed discussion to loan them our duplexer.  Their repeater will be 147.33 +
