The Byonics TinyTrak is an excellent, cheap, and effective APRS "mic-encoder". It sits between the microphone and the rig, and is also plugged into a GPS. Whenever the microphone PTT button is released, it will send the current location as an APRS packet. The frequency of the position reports, e.g. every 3 overs, is programmed into it via the 9 pin "D" socket, visible at the top of the PCB. Copyright (c) 2001, Terry Ebdon, EI9IW |
