Outgoing QSL Cards

To facilitate the sorting and despatch of cards, the following guidelines should be observed

Card size should be 14 cm x 9 cm (5.5 in x 3.5 in)
Cards bigger than this run the risk of being folded or bent

Make sure there is a bureau for the countries that you are sending cards to
A list of countries with no QSL bureaux can be found here

The Callsign of the station worked should be clearly legible on the front of the card

The Callsign should also be written at the top right hand corner on the back of the card
Add QSL manager (if applicable) and country for unusual calls

Sort cards by country
Cards for the USA should be further sorted by Call Areas, with  Call Area No 4 further sorted, keeping single and double prefixes separate (i.e.  KC4 separate from K4 etc)
also keep Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico separate.
Keep Russian calls separate from former USSR members
(Russia is UA-UI, Kazakhstan is UN and Ukraine is UR-UZ .. Kalingrad UA2 is now separate also)

Use elastic bands to separate the bundles

There is no longer any need to include a label to prove IRTS membership
All cards received are now checked with a database of current members

DO NOT  send cards to PO Box 462, but send them direct to ..

Tony Baldwin.
Rathlin.
Kilcrohane.
Co Cork.

Cards sent to PO Box 462 could well be delayed by at least 6 months

PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS if not printed on your cards ..
any problems can then be easily resolved
