NAOMI-demo.zip 2.07MB

Please read the following notes first:

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Pentium II 300Mhz or better
  • Internet Explorer 5 or 6, with any Pop-Up Blocker software turned OFF.
  • WinZip or similar un-zipping program.

INSTALLATION:
The NAOMI demo is a series of HTML pages, data, and javascript files. The installation process is completely non-invasive. All it does is to move files to their new location. No changes are made to the Registry or any other System Settings.

The files are all put in one folder 'NAOMI'. The unpacking-process sets up the folders automatically. The NAOMI folder can go anywhere on your computer, though I would suggest 'C:\Program Files'

Start the WinZip program, click on 'Open', and browse to the downloaded file 'NAOMI-demo.zip'. Click 'OK' to select the file, then click 'Extract'. Enter the name, or browse to 'C:\Program Files' in the 'Extract to' box. Select the 'All Files' and 'Use folder names' options. (The folder-names option is absolutely required for the program to work.) Click 'Extract', and WinZip does the rest for you. Close the WinZip program, and then by using either 'My Computer' or 'Windows Explorer', browse to C:\Program Files\NAOMI', where you will see a number of folders, files, and web pages. Find a page called 'NAOMI.html' and create a shortcut to it (right-click > create shortcut), which you can then move to your Desktop or Program Menu (C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs). To start NAOMI, click on the shortcut.

UNINSTALL:
To uninstall the NAMOI demo, locate the 'NAOMI' folder, and any shortcuts you created, and delete them.

COMMON PROBLEMS:
If you click 'NAOMI.html' to start the program, get a page with the word 'Loading...' on it, and then find that page disappears with nothing to replace it, the reason is that you have pop-up blocker or similar software enabled on Internet Explorer. Turn it off, and NAOMI will start correctly. If you do not wish to turn off your pop-up blocker software, you can also start NAOMI by clicking on a file called 'start.html' - however, the screen area available for the maps will be smaller. To view the Help Guide, you will need to click on the file 'help\index.html'.
