FindU APRS Maps Home > APRS Maps > FindU • This page contains a number of continental and sub-continental maps for use with FindU.com FindU.com APRS Database and Server   The FindU.com system, created and run by Steve Dimse, K4HG, stores 40GB of position reports, weather reports, messages, telemetry, and other data from the APRS system. This system gets more than 4 million hits every month, an incredible number for an amateur radio related system.   To access this data, or generate maps with the data superimposed on them, you need to send simple commands to the FindU website using your standard internet browser. Steve has a page here that lists the commands, or you can go to a variety of other sites providing form-based entry, listed here.   Certain of the commands allow you to specify an external map; the server then gets this map and superimposes the APRS positions or other data before returning the completed map to your browser.   I have made a number of continental and sub-continental maps that you can use as a background for plotting positions. The easiest way to use them is with these forms...   Plot This draws an image with current positions shown as a small red square with the callsign attached. Results will be slightly faster using this route.
