WHEN HE
STARTED ON THE RADIO: Enry started on the radio when he was just 10. At that
time he would spend hours listening to local hams with a walkie-talkie. Two years
later, a friend of his showed to him an old CB Great with 6 channels. Enry was
so impressed that he decided to buy a CB radio just one week later. He had a
wonderful time on 11 meters, and met very nice people who are still close
friends of his. He had lots of interesting QSO’s on that band, and he had time
to experiment with Javi (EA2CK), EC2AEQ and EB2GKM, who also loved DX’ing.
These were really wonderful years for him. Some time
later he decided to upgrade and take a ham licence. He had no problems to pass
the test for the EC licence after having spent the night living it up! Hi! HIS
ACTIVITIES AND MAIN AREAS OF INTEREST: After getting his EA licence, Enry took
part in some important activities with the call sign ED2BB: an expedition to
Izaro island (EU-134) in 1998, and CQ WW and CQ WPX contests. He is a
knowledgeable low bands operator. He especially likes 80 meters, where he has
obtained excellent results in some contests. Enry is an enthusiast ED2JJ-ED2TA
operator and is always trying to do better in every contest; always trying to
get a higher score. His
equipment consists of an ICOM 756, Ameritron amplifier a beam antenna for the
high bands, and a dipole for the low bands. He now holds the call EA2KB, which he thinks will help him get better results in contests. Copyright © 2003 EA2CK. All rights reserved. |
