In memory on this, all PARA members can apply for the DU68 calls. The
calls will be valid until December 31., 2000.
The call will be on a first come first serve base. Apply direct in
the PARA office.
The call will be DU68 + your Suffix
eg. DU1XYZ
would be DU68XYZ (I hope there is no XYZ
just an example, sorry.)

By 1932, Leon V. Grove, KA1LG became the President of PARA which he
held on to until 1936. It was in November 27, 1932 when PARA was formally
organized. It was also during that time that the Philippine School
of Arts and Trade was founded with the School Principal Leon Grove as its
first President. During
this period also the PARA was admitted to the International Amateur
Radio Union. In 1936, Dr. Edmundo Reyes, KA1OR became PARA President. Succeeding
years saw several active American and Filipino hams at the helm of
the organization as its President. John R. Schultz, KA1JR, was President
in 1937 . Maj. James
MacGraw was President the following year 1938. Frank C. Swan, KA1CS
became the President in 1939 .

1997, 1998, 1999 Girl Scouts of the Philippines Thinking Day
20 February 1999
RADIO Philippines assisted the Girl Scout and Guides Thinking Day in
sending greetings to sister Girl Scout and Guides here and abroad.
Through the help of the club radio facilities, the Girl Scout and Guides
were able to send their Thinking Day greetings here and all over the
world, through the program called International Friendship and DX Contest
(INFEX) In other member countries they call it
Thinking-Day-On -the-Air (TDOTA).
Girl Scouts of the Philippines
Thinking Day 1997
1997 GSP Thinking Day was conducted by
DX1RPI together with the Girl Scouts Council of Kamuning, Quezon City,
in there Girl Scout facilities. The Scouts where able to reach a lot of
local Philippine scouts and some international contact where made to.
OM Greg 4F3GLB supervised the QSO's of the Quezon City Girl Scouts Council
during the Girl Scouts of the Philippines Thinking Day 1997.

Jamboree on the Air and DX1RPI in 1999
Every year in October the Scouts of the whole world celebrate their
comming together in the Jamboree big scout camps where scouts of the same
and different countries meet each oterh. DX1RPI is present every year to
assist the Quezon City Girl Scouts to have their Jamboree on the Air and
to find contact to other scout groups in the Philippine and abroad.
Joseph DU1DX with Jon-Jon DY1XAA assist the girl scouts
on the HF Station together with the Quezon City Girl Scout in 1999 finding
contact to other mostly the boy scouts . Under our assistance the Girls
build up new contact to other scout Group in the Philippine and over seas.

Philippine Phone Contest:
VHF / UHF Philippine Phone Contest 1998
DX1RPI participated in the VHF Round Up Contest of PARA on March 7 and March 8, 1998 from Mt. Santo Tomas, Tuba Benguet near Baguio City. Members of DX1RPI participated in the Contest in Santo
Tomas Mountain near Baguio City.

The winning team of the
1999 VHF / UHF Philippine Phone Contest 13-14 March 1999 The station 4G1RPI , the special call use by RADIO Philippines during the 1999 PARA VHF-UHF Round up Contest, held March 13-14 ,1999 at Tagaytay City. RADIO Philippines got FIRST PLACE at the Multi Operator VHF-UHF Band Field Station Category. Member of the contest team from L-R; Abet DU1SBZ; Joseph DU1DX; Roel DU1ECE; Rea DY1OLS; and Jimel DU1RYZ. Other participants not seen in the picture were Raffy DU1RXX; Luis DU1CMT; Cristina; Edgar Gualberto; and Erwin Manzano. |
Centennial
Celebration of DX100RPI
On June 12, 1998 DX100RPI operated a HF station in Roxas Boulevard,
Metro Manila during the 100 year independence celebration of the Philippines.
Pasko Ipadama Project of RADIO Philippines Incorporated
RADIO Philippines wishes to thank its members and numerous radio amateurs and friends who supported the Moon Cake Festival on its 10th year. The proceeds of this activity have financed the Pasko Ipadama Project of RADIO Philippines Incorporated.
This year's beneficiaries were the indigent patients of the East Avenue Medical Center at Quezon City. Grocery bags containing essential items were packed as early as 9:00 AM, cans of sardines were donated by William DU1BUB.
Members of RADIO Philippines headed by its President Raffy DU1RXX,
Treasurer Joseph DU1DX and Jon-Jon DY1XAA were among the coordinators with
the East Avenue Medical Center for organized distribution. With the
help of the hospital staff headed by Mr. Robert Jardin senior nurse and
Mrs. Hilda Lim head nurse of OB Gyne Department, the grocery bags were
smoothly distributed to the third and fourth floor hospital patients.
