BEFORE BREAKFAST CLUB ( BBC ), INC.

SOME GUIDING RULES AND PRINCIPLES

  1. THE GROUP
  2. This is an informal association of amateur radio enthusiasts of similar tastes and temperament who wake up very early in the morning to QSO with one another.

  3. QUALIFICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
  4. He is an early riser and really enjoys the early morning QSO ; he is on regular QSO before or at breakfast time ; preferably, he is a professional and 30 years old or over , he is not reluctant to host a modest breakfast once a year for about 12 to 16 regular members. Membership as far as practicable shall be dispersed to as wide an area as possible; but it is desirable to have no more than two regular members from the same town, district or area.

  5. ENTRY TO REGULAR MEMBERSHIP
  6. Any regular member may sponsor to membership an amateur radio operator who possesses the qualifications for membership and who had QSOed with the group andpreferably with all the regular members. If the sponsored applicant is acceptable to allthe active regular members, as indicated in a very secret ballot devised to avoid embar-rasments, he will then be allowed to host his admission breakfast for the regular members and from that time on he shall be a regular member.

  7. THE BREAKFAST MEETINGS
  8. Aside from the early morning radio QSO, the breakfast meetings are the important spices of the group. The meetings provide the occasion for camaraderie, for personal contacts, and for exchange of radio ideas.

    1. All breakfast meetings shall be held at Aristocrat, Cubao, Quezon City, unless the sponsor suggests a different place approved by a majority of the regular members in the immediately preceeding breakfast meeting.
    2. Breakfast shall start at about 6:30 in the morning for regular members and about 7:15 a.m. for the guests. Anyone may already leave , if he so desires, at about 8:00 a.m.
    3. There are three (3) kinds of breakfasts:
    1. Regular Breakfast - This is hosted by a regular member and is held at least once a month , the aim being to have at least one regular breakfast each month.
    2. Admission Breakfast - This is hosted by the applicant as a final pre-requisite toregular membership.
    3. Special Breakfast - This is hosted upon request by a non - member.
    1. In any breakfast , the host shoulders his own breakfast and those of the regular members . Non-members are on QQB.
    2. A club member should not be affiliated with any other amateur radio group. Discussion of amateur politics shall be avoided. Solicitation to membership in other groups are unwanted during our breakfast meetings. Any member , however, is free to join any and all other groups he may desire to join.
    3. The breakfast meetings are open to non-members but are radio enthusiasts. They can come at anytime after 7:15 a.m. and they shall be QQB. Regular members can invite any number of such guests but their breakfast shall not be the responsibility of the sponsor or of the BBC.
  1. WITHDRAWAL FROM MEMBERSHIP
  2. A member should remain as such only for as long as he enjoys the QSO with, and the breakfast company of the group. Hence a member can withdraw from membership at anytime he pleases without any formal notice being needed; he can just fade away. If a member should fail to attend two (2) successive regular breakfasts without any explanation or excuse , even by air, then he shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the group and a new member may be admitted to fill the place thus vacated.

  3. REVISIONS, AMENDMENTS

The group being a very informal one, these Guiding Rules and Principle may be revised , amended, altered or added to by a majority of the regular members at any breakfast meeting. Approved , January 17, 1981
