AMATEUR RADIO

Amateur or ham radio is a radio communication service for non-commercial and experimentation purposes. It is said that Guglielmo Marconi was the one who started when he demonstrated the first transatlantic radio communication back in 1903, since then, it became an inspiration for others to experiment with wireless communication despite the scarcity of information in those days on how to build a radio equipment.

           "The word "HAM" as applied to Amateur Radio, dates back to 1908 and was the call letters of the first amateur wireles station operated by some members of the Harvard Wireless Club. They were Albert S. Hyman, Bob Almay and Reggie Murray."
