Duplexer
Our duplexer is based on a the so called "Dresdner Design" (published by Y24TL and Y24DL
in "Funkamateur", January 1983, p.34 f.)
Manfred, DL9GMH, and Ulrich, DL2KWW, improved the design and made some
modifications of this version with best electrical results. Therefore a new construction design
was developed in 1989. For best surface quality they used rolled 0.2 mm copper foil inside the
cavities and - like the "Dresdner Design" – solid state tuning pistons. The duplexer was taken
into service in May, 1990 and works now for more then fifteen years operation time without
any problems, because temperature compensation is excellent by using special steel for the
tuning spindle and specially calculated layout for the tuning capacity. And – you may believe:
it’s no pleasure to do the job on top of a church tower about 75 mtrs above street level,
protected only against rain, not against temperatures from say –20 to +35 degrees Celsius.
