Mr. Pilling has leased the Karnin Tower about 20 years ago. Since then he spent the summertime here on the Island Usedom and went for his hobbies: hunting, aviation, sailing. In former time he wrote some books about car electricity, for instance:

Many thanks to Mr. Pilling that he has such a special understanding for our "crazy" hobby. Our annual activities around the Karnin Pilot Tower would have been not possible without his great support.
 

Unfortunately in May 2006 he has lost his last battle.

Thanks Mr. Pilling for all that you have done for our team. Our sincere condolence to his family and friends.

We will keep him in our mind, and everytime we are in Karnin his spirit will be with us.
