With the sail truck after Oland and Langeness. Already 1869 were built over the high-altitude Watt

by the mainland over Oland after Langeness Buhne, an artificial dam with a certain protective effect.

Only 1924 followed the building of a flood-free rock fill dam in something other alignment howeve

in today's form with track from the mainland after Hallig Oland and later also after Hallig Langeness.

On this dam first 1927 drove a sail truck between Dagebüll and Hallig Oland and two years later

also to Hallig Langeneß. Thus as special means of transport among other things also for mailing a

"sailrailwayon a distance was inserted of approx. 30.000 feets length. Also today still Halliginhabitants must

plan their trips exactly on the mainland. There is a Ferryboot after Hooge and Langeness.

During the summer months additionally also trip ships can be used. In the other time against it the ferry

of the Wyker steam shipping office operates not daily, and already not at all several times.

A daily trip with the ferry on the mainland - for example for one purchase-stroll or physician visit -

was so for  a Halliginhabitants in the autumn and winter 2006/2007 under the timetable only

on one day in the week possible.
