Transverter functions

FT847-SuperControl supports up to four transverter or downconverter devices at the same time. For this purpose, in the VFO-display of the root program window there are two new transverter VFO-displays implemented.

First you should configure your transverter device(s) by going to the transverter configuration window. You can reach this window by using the button "TRANS ON" in the root program window (refer to picture 1.1).

In this window you can see four lines, which will be used for the offset data of your transverter-device(s). Each line stands for one antenna jack of your transceiver.

With the button "Test offset" you can check out, whether your entry's made to the lines are correct or not. In the root program window you can see the two transverter VFO's with the calculated final frequency's.

You can end the configuration window and discard your made entry's, by using the button "Cancel". With the button "OK (save)" you can save your entry's to the Windows registry database and start over the on screen frequency translation. From now on, you can see the two new transverter VFO's in the root program window. Earlier manual frequency translations with the use of table's or spreadsheets, are no longer necessary (refer to picture 1.2).

You can end the transverter calculation in the root program window with the button "TRANS OFF".

This function is a big advantage if you are working satellites which only can be reached with the help of transverter devices (for example AO-40). In this case please also think about the needed Doppler correction (refer to chapter 3 - automatic doppler correction).
