Problems within the automatic Doppler correction - caused by wrong system settings ?

FT847-SuperControl has been developed also for international users, therefore it could be, that with different system configurations and different country settings we can watch some problems, due to a wrong number format which has been configured in the Windows system configuration. Because the number format is user configurable, many different settings are possible, which can't be handled by the program. So we must use a standard number format which can be used in all the countries all over the world. Every country has an own country format and therefore other number formats, other date and time formats. All these settings can be different from computer to computer, from country to country. Our SuperControl Software needs a normal number format like 123.456.789,00 or 123,456,789.00 ! It's also possible to find some virgin systems, where generally other settings have been installed by default !

A wrong setting of the number format can cause severe malfunctions in the calculation of complex formula. Generally we can say, that nearly in all parts of FT847-SuperControl we are using calculation of complex formula, but more difficult calculations have been used in the program part with the automatic Doppler calculation. Errors in this part of the program we surely can point to wrong country-specific system settings. If we can find complex numbers with a wrong decimal point in the Doppler calculation window, this will be a sign for a wrong setting in the country-specific system configuration.

Please take a look to the following pictures, where you can see some configuration windows under the Windows XP system and the Windows 98 system. Please try the correct settings for your system.

Please note: The pictures are taken from german Windows systems, because the author don't have english or american versions. So we hope you can find these windows also on your system, maybe with a slightly different design and of course in your language. The number format should be still the same !

Please take a look at the following picture, where you can see the configuration window of the Doppler-correction function. You can specify one out of two different number formats in the frame "Language support / number format" (refer to picture 1.5).
