The VFO-Scanner

You can reach the following window by using the button "VFOscan" from the root program window (please refer to picture 1.1).

(picture 1.1 - VFO scanner configuration)

On the left side of the configuration window "Scan-step-configuration", you can configure your needed scan step in KHZ.

The checkbox "busy delay" and the combo box which belongs to this checkbox, will delay the scanning after a found signal drops, for the choosen time.

The checkbox "Save frequency to the quick memory bank" in conjunction with the slider ""S-meter level to save qmb" will copy every found frequency with a higher s-meter value than the value of the slider, to the temporary "quick memory bank" on the right side. You can use the entry's in this small quick memory bank later to fill the normal memories with it. In this case you should do a mouseclick to one entry to take over the frequency to the normal VFO display. Then you can use the buttons for normal memory operations to save an entry to the normal memory banks. The button "CLEAR" will delete all the entry's in the quick memory bank, while the button "CLOSE" also deletes all the entry's and exits the VFO scanner window. Just in Case you found some important signals and frequencies, you should save them first.

The checkbox "stop scanning when signal found" will stop the scanning, as soon as a signal is found which opens the squelch.

If you are turning on the checkbox "stop when PTT active", the scanner will stop, when the transceiver is transmitting, maybe because of pushing the microphone.

The checkbox "Scan predefined range only" will start another configuration window, where we can configure up to twelfe different scan ranges, which will be scanned in a series then (refer to picture 1.2).

(picture 1.2 - scan range configuration)

If you want to edit an entry, you must check the checkbox "Edit scanrange" in front of the line you wish to edit, to make it editable. After that, you can enter your desired starting and ending frequency in the well known format (two seperation points !!!). You can use the checkbox "Activate scanrange" to activate that entry for the later scanning. Generally you can also activate all twelve entries at the same time. The scanner will try to use the activated entries as a series of commands by beginning at the first range going to the last range, all the time until the "stop" button has been pressed.

With the button "SAVE" you can save all your entry's in the configuration window to the Windows registry database. The button "OK" will exit and take over the configuration window.

Finally you can start the scanner with the buttons "DOWN" and "UP", the button "STOP" will end the scanning.
