CyberHam Magazine

Updated 7/3/96

A new publication that puts together what the Ham Radio Operator
of TODAY needs. It will carry information about how Ham Radio
and Computers connect. Authors are needed for articles in the
different areas. If you are interested in writing articles on
a regular basis or just one article, please contact us now! The
first issue will take time to write, and need the input NOW. See
your name in print!

The following is a list of those whom have agreed to write for
CyberHam Magazine:

Hams on the INTERNET: Ed & Kim Mitchell (KF7VY & N7VPL) - They publish
Ham Radio Online (http://www.accessone.com/~vbook/hronline.html. If
you have not seen it, check it out!

Hams on Compuserve: Nancy Kott (WZ8C) - Nancy is a Compuserve Sysop
and very much into CW. I had the pleasure of meeting her at the
Dayton Hamvention in the FISTS booth.

Hams on America on Line: Terry Stader (KA8SCP) - Terry has been the
forum host in the Ham Radio Forum for as long as I've been a member.

"Title Unknown": Gene Melton (AK9N) - Gene is going to do a column
that will start with the trials & tribulations of learning Linix.
Carol Melton (KI9G) will help on occasion by providing photos, the
first ones being coverage of the Dayton Hamvention.

Packet Radio: Dave Ewaldz (N9HKM) - Dave has been involved in packet
radio forever and has a great packet BBS in Rockford, IL.

'I' Bits by KB9I: Ken Farver (KB9I) - Ken will cover several subjects,
with many reviews of programs that you can find in the Cyber World.

APRS: Bob Bruninga (WB4APR) - Bob wrote the APRS DOS based program!
With the popularity of APRS (and those of us with much to learn), this
column should be well read.

Best of Shareware: Ronnie Cohen - Ronnie has a company called
MoM 'N' Pop's Software, and knows what the programs do. I have seen
his reviews, and they are done very well.

SSTV: Fred Sharp (W8ASF) - Fred has written for other publications
in the past about SSTV and Weather Fax. He will continue to share
his knowlege with us now in CyberHam Magazine.

Cartoons: Robert Beasly (K6BJH) - Who else, but Beasly. We've all
seen his cartoons in many of the other ham publications.

ATV: Bill Parker (W8DMR) - Bill is very involved in ATV and has
written many articles in the past. We will have to see what he has
to say about ATV and computers.

YL Column: Carol Barsky (KA9SOF) - Carol expressed interest in writing
for CyberHam Magazine at the Dayton Hamvention. She is just finnishing
her Masters degree this summer.

Interfacing the PC: Tom Myers (N9LHK) - Tom works as a hardware
designer in the coin operated game industry. He will give us
insight in his articles as to how to connect the outside world
to the PC.

Many others have indicated an interest in writing once in awhile. This
will give us something different every month for variety.

We are looking for more on the following:

Reviews of Amateur Radio Commercial Programs
Computer Hardware Technical Articles
Computer Programming
Beginning Computer User Articles
RTTY
AMTOR
Satellite Communications
Ham Radio BBS's (do you have one - tell us about it)
and MORE!!!

Any Ham Radio or Computer topic will be considered, but most
articles should relate to the combined application. Controlling
amateur equipment with computers and contruction articles are
welcome. Lots of techie stuff. Used a shareware or commercial
program that you like? Tell us about it. If you can write about
any of the above topics, please let us know. I like lots of pictures
or drawings that will help explain the topic.
