Dave, N6CO - MIR QSL Manager ( USA and WW except Europe ) --------------- FROM THE PRESIDENT MIR "PMS" As you have probley noticed, the digipeater is turned off along with 3rd party messages. MIREX hopes the digi can be turned back on VERY soon along with 3rd party. The problem(s) with the digi being on has been hams are useing the digi to connect to other stations Via MIR. This causes ALOT of "RR"[ Rx Readys ] and thus can kick out a station trying to put a message up on the R0MIR-1 PMS. All stations should learn how to use UNPROTO.( Unconnected UI frames via MIR ) If you need more information on this, please send E-Mail to doc@volcano.net or N6CO@N0ARY.#NOCAL.CA.USA.NA Scott, WA6LIE or myself will try and help you out useing this mode. (UNPROTO) The Problem with having 3rd party on has been, this TNC WILL accept the last line of info that the TNC has accepted. In other words, a /ex or control Z is added to the message upon disconnection wether the message was compleated or not. This is leading to ALOT of duplications of incompleate messages on the PMS. PLEASE KILL "YOUR" OLD AND READ MESSAGES! This statement is sent when you connect to R0MIR-1. --------------- RUSSIANS NOW REQUEST ENGLISH MAIL 26-Sep-98 19:24:40 CONNECTED to R0MIR-1 [KPC9612P-8.1-HM$] 41548 BYTES AVAILABLE THERE ARE 52 MESSAGES NUMBERED 7484-7735 Welcome to R0MIR-1 MIR Space Station.
