CW sending is possible via COM1 .. COM4 ports or via LPT1 .. LPT2 ports.
All the connections with serial or parallel ports are the same as for
N6TR and K1EA software.
   COM (serial) ports with DB9:
CW key output - pin 4 (DTR),
PTT output - pin 7 (RTS),
              Ground - pin 5 (SG).
   COM (serial) ports with DB25:
CW key output - pin 20 (DTR),
PTT output - pin 4 (RTS),
              Ground - pin 7 (Ground).
   LPT (parallel) ports with DB25:
CW key output - pin 17 (Select input),
CW strobe - pin 1 (Strobe),
PTT output - pin 16 (InitPort),
              Ground - pin 18 or 25 (Ground).

LPT ports are good both for DOS and for WINDOWS.

ENTER STYLE sending (as in N6TR software) and auto choosing CQ/S&P
operating methods are the important features of this program. You can
set or quit this option by pressing "Shift+Tab". Chosen style (N6TR or
K1EA) is indicated in the right bottom of the screen.
In "ENTER sending style" the operating methods may be set automatically
or you may choose needed method by pressing Alt+C (CQ or S&P), that is
also indicated there.
You can use this style while real time operating or in "TRAINING".

'TEXTS.LST' is the list of CW messages sent by F1 .. F10, "Ins",
"+", "-" and "\" Keys. You may change any message following the lines
format after pressing Alt+T or in this file.
Symbols means: $ your own callsign,
@ other station in QSO window,
                   # your sent number.
Use symbols "+" and "-" to increase or decrease CW sending speed
for 4 WpM in any point of CW message (by Alt+T or in the file itself).
Space in a message returns sending speed to usual one without using "-".

If no callsign is in QSO_window then you can send again callsign
logged before (by F5) and the last (not new!) serial number (by F2).

Keyboard sender may by activated in CW mode by "Alt+K". This mode
allows to send English symbols, digits and some other symbols such
as "?", "/", mistake sign (..._.) etc. Keyboard sending allows also
to send all the texts under F1 .. F10, "Ins", "+" and "-" keys.
"Keyboard sending" style is indicated in the right bottom of
the screen instead of "FuncKeys Sending". CW sending speed (WPM)
is also indicated there.

Use CTRL+ENTER for logging QSO without any sending in CW mode.
Or use only ENTER in K1EA style.

Sound sending (by Ctrl+S) allows You to try all CW options
without transmitting in the air. In "TRAINING" you will hear
your correspondents via computer loudspeaker.

In SSB mode computer is used for logging QSOs and checking
for dupes, rates and results. Rate window shows last 10 minutes
rate (in QSOs/hour).
Your own exchange may be changed by Alt+Pg_Up or Pg_Dwn
for 1 (or by Alt+N for any new exchange).

NEEDED MULT is dispalayed in the right bottom of the screen
by Ctrl+C.

Previous QSOs edition (Alt+E or ) allows to use almost all
usual editional keys. But if your log contains more than 1000 QSOs
then its rewriting lasts about some seconds after finishing edition.
Such occasion also takes place when a large log is loaded (if You
use old types of computers).

If you need only logging program without sending in CW mode
- set Off ENTER-STYLE by pressing "Shift+Tab" and use "Enter"
and "Space".

"ARI-2004" will help you to log your QSOs after finishing
the Contest. Please, pay attention to hours and minutes! There are
some automatical functions to correct your possible mistakes.
For example, if after "14:58" you enter ":02" it will be "15:02".
"Ctrl+D" is for DATE edition. But if you write "00:04" after
"23:57" - the DATE increases itself. But we know that most of
Contest Committees pay no attention to the date. That is right!

If you start to train yourself in "TRAINING" mode, you can
send "CQ" by pressing F1, F9 or even "Enter" (in N6TR CQ style).
Answer your correspondents using the same keys as while real operating.
You can also write any CallSign in "QSO window" and then call it by
pressing F4 (your call) or "Enter" (in N6TR S&P style). This station
will answer you and send needed number.

We welcome all comments, advices and questions. Sincere thanks
to everybody who use this program. Good luck and great satisfaction
in ARI INTERNATIONAL DX CONTEST. 73!
