Program : CAT-1000 a CAT program for the FT-1000-MP, MK-5 and Field Executable : CAT-1000.EXE Author : Christian Laheyne - CN8HB Ver : 1.2.0 from August 2004 WWWeb : www.geocities.com/cn8hb/radio.html WWWeb : www.qsl.net/cn8hb/radio.html email : mailto:cn8hb@email.com _____________________________________________________________________ CAT-1000 By CN8HB ================= CAT-1000 provides control over the Yaesu FT-1000 MP family. To date, the FT-1000 MP, FT-1000-MP Mark-V and the FT-1000-MP Field are supported A version for the older FT-1000D Serie is completed and can be downloaded elsewhere on this site. Due to the relative similarity in the commands, the FT-890 and FT-990 may be compatible (not tested though). There is actually no help file compiled for this software. The help file will be made available later. Most of the commands are intuitive and do not require any explanation to be understood. Try a Right-Click on some of the buttons... Major Commands: --------------- * Several buttons or fields react to a right click of the mouse. These are : - In the KeyPad window : The [1Mhz] [100Khz] buttons Step change from Down to Up. The QMB buttons use Right click to set the button frequency and Left click to recall the frequency. - In the M-List window : The [Save] and [Load] buttons will present the "Save As" or "Select File" option with a right Click rather than the default ft1000.ymp file. The new file name/Path will be saved an recalled for further use. * After opening the scope window, a double-click anywhere in the blue field will set the Main or Sub VFO to the frequency displayed on the scale and in the yellow label. Main or Sub selection is achieved with the Main/Sun buttons pair on the same window. * Moving the mouse left or right with the Right button maintained depressed on the mouse will change the frequency as you move. * A click on the Tx or Rx sign or within the Clarifier frame will reset the clarifier to 0.00 * If [Freq] is selected on the KeyPad window, the frequency can be entered either with the mouse and click on the buttons or with the numeric keypad. The sequence is : - Start with [Enter] - Then enter the frequency with a leading 0 if less than 10 Mhz. You dont need to enter a decimal point in the sequence. - End with [Sub] or [Main] or on the KeyPad, the [+] key for the Main VFO the [-] key for the Sub VFO Known bugs: Due to the way Yaesu implemented their CAT interface, timing and delays are sometimes difficult to solve. Reload Memory (M-List window) The clarifier Frequency cannot be uploaded from the Mem-List window [Upload] function. It seems that setting the clarifier from the CAT interface does not work at all. EDSP Although most of the features works some of them do not seem to react normally (or as planned). The implementation of the EDSP does not seem to be correct. I cannot say if the supplied information on the FT-1000 manual is not correct or if the function is not responding properly (any information welcome). The FT-1000 CAT interface does not provide any positive feed back so it is not possible to check the real status of the EDSP functions. Also, it should be noted that activating any front panel command such as Mode or VFO/Mem will reset any EDSP setting previously sent by the CAT program. This is not a program issue. The lack of accurate information from Yaesu about the EDSP control does not allow to optimise this part of the program. History : Version 1.0.2 * Added PTT Mouse control (keep right mouse button depressed and then press left button to keyup) Do not forget to check "Authorize PTT" in the Setup Menu. * The Small/Large control is now in the top menu bar * Added a tuning Aid Spectrum button (A stand alone Pgm FFT Spectrum Analyser is included in the Update relase) Try it in PSK31 Mode !!! (Cannot be run concurently with another soundcard program) Version 1.0.1 * First public release Please report bugs or improvement suggestion to : AX25 : cn8hb@cn8tw.cas.mar.af Mail : cn8hb@email.com Enjoy... 73 QRO de Chris - CN8HB
