Practical Galvanometer Driver for Laser Show

What am I talking about?

To have an image of what am I talking about, it is necessary to view the following great site composed by ChaN =>

Out of the many gorgeous building project, the Laser Projector attracts me more. What I concern is the control circuit of the galvanometer coil. Although ChaN's scanner can't achieve ILDA 30K standard, the system performance is outstanding.

How to improve the performance?

Here goes my little practice and analysis, hope I can organize them neatly in the near future ... ...

TO DO ...Give me some time :)

(1) Position feedback method and analysis

(2) Fast bridge driving of the coil

(2) Realize it using digital method

Galvanometer is not a new story ...
The X-Y trace recorder from Hewlett-Packard are successful examples of well implemented galvanometer. Although need to drive a stylus and a pen, the servo system can achieve exceptional bandwidth. And, that was in the late 1960's. [Left picture] Of cause, the Remote Control toys with steering are more familiar for us. [Right picture]
