I
just got my technician license the spring of 2021 and have discovered ham radio
to be much bigger and much more fun than I originally thought it was going to
be. I was a
little bit drug to take the test by KF0DRU and I'm really glad he pushed KD9RRB
and I to do it! I
ended up taking and passing the General test 3 months later, and then passed the
Extra a week after that.
I am now an ARRL Registered License Instructor and Volunteer Examiner.
I am also the Communications Chief for our county's Emergency Services
and Disaster Agency. I've been married for 20+ years to my wife (KW9DAN).
We
have 4 kids. (KO0KER,
KW9KYA, WG0ATS, & KT0OTS). I am a pastor of a rural, non-denominational
church for the past 8 years or so.
Before that time, I was in IT/telecom for most of my working life.
I also live on a small hobby farm in the house my great-grandfather
built. My family and I have 100+ free-range chickens, rabbits, goats, quail, a
pig, and some ducks. We
also incubate eggs for ourselves and friends.
We have a huge garden that keeps us busy through most of the
spring/summer/fall.
