I thank the Lord that I was raised in a Christian home and accepted Lord at a young age. I met my wife in the early 50's at church and we were married in 1961. During my after school years I was involved in the church as a S.S. teacher and on church boards.
After
high school I worked in a number of jobs with the longest being with operating
engineer union as a grade oiler and equipment operator.
15 years after graduating from high school the Lord led us to go to Prairie Bible Institute at Three Hills, Alberta, Canada where I graduated in 1979 and worked a year after that doing concrete work before joining Northwest Independent Church Extension.
My first church was in Grangeville, Id. where I pastored for 1 ½ years and then moved to Happy Camp, CA. and pastored a church there for 40 years before retiring from the ministry due to health reasons. While I was pastoring the church I also was a sheriff's chaplain for 20 years.
I am not sure when I got my first ham ticket but it must have been in the 90's and shortly thereafter I got my general license. I wish I would have started much earlier and thankfully a ham friend kept after me until I got my license.
For
many years I was involved with the northwest ARMS 80 meter net and the ARMS 20
meter net as well but due to a lack of a good antenna and the 80 meter net
ending so did my HF contacts. Now I join the 20 meter net using my computer
instead of the radio.
My life verse is 1 Thess. 5:24
