MARA-thon 2001 Hamfest May 5th
Amateur Radio, computer, and electronic swap-meet / flea market at
Alaska Army National Guard Armory on Bogard Road at the Seward
This years main door prize is an Icom IC-T2H two meter
handy-talkie. We
have plans for all the great activities you've enjoyed in the past
license testing, demonstrations, food, and maybe a LEO luncheon and
hunt. Plan on being there and having fun.
146.64 Repeater is Off the Air:
This valuable community resource will remain UNUSABLE until a
resolution to this situation can be found or a congenial and
supportive host
can be found. This repeater needs to be located on a tower that is
somewhere between Palmer and Wasilla has AC power, phone line, and
is easily
accessible to the volunteers that maintain it. The host needs to
somewhat familiar with Amateur Radio, supportive, and appreciative
of the
Amateur Radio Volunteers that donate thousands of hours and
thousands of
their own dollars every year to provide communications for
emergencies and
community events. If you know of any tower or site that would be
and supportive, please contact:
