With my friend Brian in the Bahamas, one of our first trips outside the US.

---------------------------------------
Belize
Visiting the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich along the Belize/Guatemala border.
---------------------------------------
British Virgin Islands
I stayed on Tortola most of the time and visited Virgin Gorda & the Baths on a day ferry.

---------------------------------------
Cayman Islands
The fact that there is a village on Grand Cayman called Hell makes for interesting photos.

A beautiful day in a beautiful place.

---------------------------------------
Cuba
Enjoying a can of sparkling Tropicola in front of a sign that reads "socialism or death."

At the headquarters of the Cuban Amateur Radio League in Havana, pictured with Jose, one of the Cubans I had previously spoken with on the air. The gigantic portrait of Fidel Castro was a little hard to miss...

---------------------------------------
Turks & Caicos Islands
One of the smallest allegedly "international" airports I've ever come across.

A cay so small there wasn't much else to photograph!

---------------------------------------
Sint Eustatius, Netherlands Antilles
At historic Fort Oranje, site of the "first salute", the place where the United States was first recognized by a foreign power by one of her ships receiving a cannon salute upon sailing into harbor here.
The Quill, the volcano that is Statia's most prominent landmark.
---------------------------------------
Sint Maarten
---------------------------------------
Mexico
A couple shots from the north and south of Isla Mujeres.
Surveying the beautiful ocean backdrop from the top of the watchtower on Isla Contoy.
---------------------------------------
Brazil
Halfway up the Sugarloaf Mountain ropeway, overlooking Rio de Janeiro below.

---------------------------------------
Iguazu Falls, Brazil/Argentina
---------------------------------------
Paraguay
Popping over the border to visit Paraguay for 30 minutes for no other reason than to say I was there (shhhhhh!).

---------------------------------------
Uruguay
Iconic La Mano (The Hand) aka Los Dedos (The Fingers) in Punta del Este, Uruguay.

---------------------------------------
Colombia
Soaking up 500 years of history at the Castillo San Felipe de Barajas fortress in Cartagena.
A rite of passage for all visitors to Cartagena, plunging into the theraputic innards of a mud volcano.
