A couple shots of me with the pyramids, the first with me in the foreground just to add scale.

Sunrise climb to the top of Mt Sinai, where Moses received the Ten Commandments.

Inside the St Katherine's Monastery compound on the Sinai peninsula to see what is reputed to be the actual burning bush of Biblical lore.

Somaliland
Standing underneath a Somali MiG-17 that crashed in Hargeisa during the Somalia civil war.
Today the fuselage forms the main part of a war memorial that commemorates Somaliland's struggle for independence.
Admiring the 10,000 year old rock art paintings at the Laas Geel cave complex.

Camels for sale at Hargeisa's bustling livestock market.

Eritrea
A couple random snapshots of aimless wanderings around Asmara, the country's capital city.
Eritrea has only been independent a short time, so reminders of its fight against Ethiopia are everywhere.
First, a tank memorial in Massawa. Second, a randon tank wreck in a small village between Keren and Asmara.
A graphic war mural in downtown Keren.

One of Asmara's enchanting churches.
