Other RFI resolved at W4NBO

Ethernet birdies. Per good advice on the [email protected] message board, I abandoned my hardwired router in favor of modern WIFI.

Now run cable internet, motorola modem, ethernet CAT 6 sheilded to TPLink router mounted in the ceiling. For devices without WIFI use the VONET dongles.

The single CAT6 now used gives off no birdies. I can unhook it and no difference anywhere.

I am still hearing birdies on the old frequencies where I had s4+ birdies previously but now they are barely heard at the noise floor. Unhooking my system makes no difference. Likely coming from nearby houses.

Vintage Heathkit decorative porch lamp with photocell and motion sensor (dim/bright). This started spewing RFI. I gutted it and wired in a external mounted LED friendly photocell. Eliminated the motion sense. Added a 300w equivalent corn cob style LED lamp with medium base. Since the LED is low current draw, I let it run all night. It is very bright.

Years ago the attic fan thermostat started spewing RFI. Replaced it. Good find as this could have been dangerous.
