Hello fellow ham operators and welcome to my home page. I'm very glad that you made it this far . . .
and I hope that you'll stick around long enough to get to know just a little bit more about me and my life.
After all, these days, acquaintances that begin on the radio are often the most real, vivid, and long-lasting - and maybe that will be true of us.

My Background

My name is Alan Perry, and I have been amateur radio operator since May 1999, I earned my license to
assist in my local area in emergency communications, since then I have have come to enjoy the hobby and
on December 11 1999, upgraded my Technician license to Tech plus and in April 2000 I
advanced to General and July 2000 to Extra class.

My Interests

I guess that the best - and fastest - way to really get to know me is by discovering what I like. So here goes . . .
Ham radio, computers, Muzzle loading firearms, early 1800 history,
and I adore my children.  Please see my links page for links to some of my favorite sights related to the above interests.

Ham Radio Projects
I recently built an auto antenna tuner kit by LDG electronics. I am now learning some of the
digital modes on HF, of course CW manual style, but have tried RTTY and currently working on PSK31, which I have been told works well. I am trying out the world of QRP as my first contact on CW was with a QRP station using 800milliwatts. I have worked places around the world with
only 5 watts SSB and even a half watt  SSB QSO into Arizona.
