19 May PBARC Meeting Summary:
Thanks everyone for a productive meeting.
In summary, the following was
covered/discussed/acted upon:
- PBARC will continue as a sponsor of the LR
Hamfest (the club will support the LR Hamfest with time
only)
- We will hold Amateur Radio Classes
(starting with Technician and then progressing up). AA5LT
will publicize the class with an article in the
newspaper. The exact date for the class has NOT be set as
we need to determine the interest level. The classes will
most likely be held at the Red Cross (as N5JWJ indicated
he has access to the building)
- We voted to purchase the voice controller
for the 146.700 machine (cost of about $400). N5JWJ will
handle this.
- The last conversation I had with Wally
Hunt indicated that the RACES Van was at the Road
Department for repairs. I will update you as I find
things out.
- As a result of some discussion on the
ARES/RACES programs, I will be getting with some of you
to discuss how/what we can do to spur the
interest/activity. The agencies that review the CSEPP
excercise recognize the GOOD job that you all do. We will
work to do even better.
- W5LL suggested that we look at a Vanity
call sign again --- the motion failed from lack of a
second.
- Field Day:
- K5ECJ will check on White Hall
Park as that was the location of choice.
- We opted to run two stations
(initially one CW and the other SSB). If the CW
activity decreases, we will convert to two SSB
stations.
- Food will be handled on an
individual basis with the Club to buy drinks.
- We went down a list of items and
got names assigned to most all of them. Check the
web site for particulars.
