The AA9RO Repeater Update
AARO has been selected by Yaesu to be beta testers for the NEW Fusion Repeater system.
On May 19th 2014, the new repeater was installed at our repeater site.
After some setting changes, it remains on the air with the set-up:
A person using FM would not notice any difference except a possible audio improvement. If you use FM, you may want to use CTCSS with a 225.7 tone. This way if someone is transmitting on The digital mode, you will not hear them. If not using CTCSS, you will hear some digital noise which is not appealing to the ears.
The person using Digital would only hear another digital station, not FM.
The repeater can be set several different ways but this was decided to satisfy the experimenting with the DIGITAL modes.
Any other digital use is possible.
