Record Producer: Roy Emerson

Roy Emerson is a freelance Classical Record Producer and Television Audio Director.

Roy specialises in live opera and ballet productions. He also provides location facilities for the recording of all types of classical music from solo instrumental upwards.

Computerised digital editing facilities are available, and finished mastertapes are produced for private or commercial use. A complete CD production service is available, including art work.

Bio:

Roy Emerson is a Music Graduate of Trinity College, London. From 1969 until 1976 he was a member of the music staff of the famous Abbey Road Studios until moving to C.B.S. Masterworks where he was the chief producer in Europe until 1981, when he became independent.

He has worked with many of the greatest musicians, including Boulez, Karajan, Maazel, Domingo, Carreras, Murray Perahia, Kiri Te Kanawa and Zukerman . His productions have received many awards, notably Grandes Prix du Disques, Edison (Holland), Deutsche Schallplatten, Grammy (U.S.A.) etc..

Roy is currently Director of Music at the Church of our Lady of the Rosary in London. A large part of his work has been in France, in Paris and other cities and communes, and he has a residence secondaire in Picardy.

As a record producer, Roy Emerson's name is to be found on the label of several classical CD series, including CBS Masterworks and Sony Classical . The recording of Uluru, the Music of the Spheres, with the London Philharmonic Orchestra at The Henry Wood Hall, London, for which Roy Emerson was Recording Manager and Supervisor, is described elsewhere.
