Updating My Website Using Hugo
Almost all the ham radio websites on qsl.net look like they’re from the early 2000’s. Us hams need to modernize our websites. However, learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to make a decent, modern website is no easy task. That’s where Hugo comes in.
Hugo is a extremely easy-to-use website generator which I discovered today. It’s so easy to use, I completely re-made my website in just three hours! Instead of having to code in HTML, you simply write your articles in Markdown and Hugo will compile your website for you (almost instantly!). It’s minimal, open-source, and most importantly, it’s easy to learn.
I followed the Hugo quick start guide here: https://gohugo.io/getting-started/quick-start/.
And I used the Hugo Blog Awesome theme which I found on https://themes.gohugo.io/.
Expect more website and project updates to be coming soon after I finish final exams!
