The IC-7500 designator is purely speculative, of course.

A Possible Successor to the IC-756Pro II?

Based on discussions between Adam VA7OJ, George W5YR and Matt KK5DR

A new radio is taking shape in our imagination - a successor to the IC-756Pro II embodying certain IC-7800 design features, such as:

  1. DMOS first mixers (as used in the IC-7800)

  2. Switched 6 kHz and 15 kHz roofing filters

  3. Relay-switched RF BPF bank (the RF BPF's in the IC-756Pro II are diode-switched)

  4. Image-reject (I/Q) down-converter to bring the 64.455 MHz 1st IF down to the 36 kHz final (DSP) IF in one step

  5. Selectable Spectrum Scope resolution bandwidths: 1 kHz and 100 Hz

  6. Perhaps an optional outboard preselector unit controlled via CI-V

  7. TMS320C6713-GDP TI DSP chipset (as used in the IC-7800)

  8. RJ-45 (10/100BaseT) control interface, with Web-based remote configuration and administration menus.

Such a radio would offer much of the capability of the IC-7800, at a price in the $2500 ~ 2700 range.

The above is pure speculation, of course. But then, so were our "IC-785" ruminations - and they ended up pretty close!
