MY LOGBOOK

I like my own logbook. When I wanted to start  any QSO, I execute the logbook program. As soon as I heared a callsign, I clicked the eye icon. The cursor would be on the box to the left of video icon. I entered the callsign andpressed the Enter key. If I worked the station before it would be listed otherwise there would be blank. Then I clicked the book icon to record the present QSO. The date and GMT time would automatically filled the date and time boxes. I keyed in the frequency, name, mode and any other given infos. If I had already worked the station I only need to enter the frequency, signal strength and the mode.

After working a station, another station might call me again. I keyed in the callsign and pressed Enter. This time I would not key in the frequency and the mode. I only need to enter the signal strength and may be the name. That's all.

My usual practice is I would click the qrz.com first after entering the callsign. If not available, I would click the Hamcall.Net box. From here I canhave a quick information on the person. After highlighted the name and adresses, I unclicked the box and clicked the printer icon to paste the info as shown below.

My logbookbook is not only contain logging informations but also facilities like CW trainer, home made notepad, video player, antenna length and some others.

Since most instructions are written in my own lingo, it would be very difficult for non-Malaysian to use it. It can be downloaded from my web site. At the end of the day I would print the hard copy.

The last additional facility is location - as I enter a callsign the voice will pronounce the country's name. If  I want to see the location on the map I will have to click the check box the bottom of the window.

DATABASE - The left image is my database program. This program consists of CW, internet TV, media player and logbook. But the logbook is merely a simple one. You can't print QSL

card or its listing. You can browse, enter and delete data. Also you can see countries prefixes

and the map. The box containing data will move up and down if no key is not touched after about a minute.

For normal logging purpose I feel this program is more convenient. I use the database to track anybody's birthday. I have databases of my former staffs and students from 1986 to 2000. I think I have more information of the present Technical School of Jalan Stadium than what the school has.
