I HAVE BEEN A REBELI have been a rebel almost my whole life when I was working. But I didn't disgree with everything that came from upstairs. When there was something which I think was incorrect I would say it out and loud too. So far there had been no disciplinary action but I was never promoted my whole carrier. But I always present my facts clearly and allowing for any rebuttle. The algorithms of logic would be well laid.

One of my most bitter experience was when the Ministry of education decided to abolish the vocational education and only allow technical education to continue. I knew who was behind it. I believe there was one bunch of engineers in technical education who might regard non engineer teachers and principals were dumb decided to take action when one of them became the big chief. All vocational schools were renamed as technical schools and equipments were allocated to Polytecnics and other institutions. I wrote papers, presented my arguments and distributed them. I did not allow any organization to enter my school to take away any equipment. I stood by my words that education must also be cattered for those low achievers and the rate of dropouts must be reduced; if they can't learn then let them do. Give them skills.

In the course of fighting I finally gave up when they erected several more buildings for the increase intake of technical students. I applied to move away from vocational  to  an academic school. That was in 2000.

Today, 8 years later, there  is an 180 degrees turn. Next year 2009 all former vocational schools will return to the original status. They will get back their old names. i am glad there are many people who had seen as what I am seing. Truely like what the MCMC is doing, ham radio should also be provided to the less smart people. May be giving 2 meters to anybody at all without the RAE.

There is always a consequence if you are against the wave. Usually you would get drowned. At any time we have to be very reasonable and to accept facts and rebuttke that exceed our arguments. After all it has to be for the good of everybody.

NEW in amateur radio ? Go on DX and hear some station calling CQ and style of communicating. There seem to be some departure from the SOP many years ago. They sound like CBers. Q-Codes were used as new meanings. Many signed using QRX instead of QRT. May be all these are new stuffs in amateur radio. Or the changes are due to the influx of new hams who are the offshoots of CBers. There is nothing that old hams can do. Pointing the mistakes would invite enmity. Since standards are gauged by majority's acceptance then the old hams might as well join rather than fight them. Remember if the whole world decide to call a rose by sweety then sweety is the new name for the rose. It might be difficult for us to accept but the future generation will not find it strange.

New world does not need tradition nor history. People are thinking for the future; what could have happened in 5 to 100 tears time . Lay out the flatform for those future. So, there is no point to mention ham's culture and tradition. Many would hate it.

K8CLA REPEATER OPERATING PRACTICES

All repeater users are expected to operate in the manner described in the FCC rules and operating guidelines published in the ARRL Repeater Directory or similar publications. Following are specific operating practices expected of users of the CFMC repeaters.

1.      You must clearly identify your station in the manner specified by the FCC.

2.      Allow the repeater do drop following each transmission and wait 1-2 Seconds before keying up again.  This allows others to join the conversation and will allow any station with an emergency to break in.  This will also allow the time-out timer to reset.

3.      Do not monopolize the repeaters.  The repeaters are a place for round-table discussions where each party should have an equal chance to participate in the discussion.  The repeaters are not a place for you to broadcast.

4.      Many people (including non-hams) listen to the repeaters. Use language you would use with someone whom you wished to favorably impress.  Rude, offensive or threatening language is inappropriate and violates repeater and/or FCC rules.  Personal attacks on other repeater users WILL NOT be tolerated.

5.      Use proper amateur radio language and prosigns. Language that is generic to other services (e.g., CB, commercial, public service) is generally inappropriate for use on amateur radio. (IE: “10-4 Good Buddy” is not appropriate)

6.      Do not acknowledge the presence of jammers and malicious interference. Try to work around them. Do not talk about interference or inappropriate activities on the air!  If you suspect the repeater may be tied to a public safety frequency please cease operations and call a control operator.

7.      The use of the repeaters is a privilege, not a right.  Any station not following these guidelines may be suspended from operation of the repeaters in accordance with the FCC Rules.
