On the first of May 1996 at 5:45 UTC, our group consisting of:

• Hamad Al-Nusif (9K2HN)
• David Zulaski (KA5TQF)
• Omar Al-Nusif
• Musab Al-Nusif

left Funaitees (15km south of Kuwait City) and headed to Kubbar Island. It was a clear day and the WX was great. We arrived to our destination at 6:45 UTC and we began to setup our station. By 7:00 UTC we signed 9K2HN/P for three hours.

The equipment we were using at that time were:

• TS-50 Kenwood
• Mobile antenna for the first 30 minutes.
• Butternet HFV6 antenna for the remaining time.
• Power generator (there's no electricity on the island).

We made 425 QSOs in three hours. After that we made our way back to Funaitees. The sea was turbulent at that time, but we made it safely and I hope I can make it again this summer. And on my next trip there I'll concentrate on North America.
