After last year’s success (3rd place)Tibi OM3RM has easily persuaded us to participate in the IOTA contest from the Island of Korcula, Croatia. This time Rasto OM3BH, a very good contestman and member of WRTC 2000 has joined our team. We also receive some additional support from Croatian operators from the 9A0DX contest club. This year we plan to depart earlier in order to have more time to build antennas and finish on time with any necessary preparations for the contest. Last year we fought with a shortage of time and unbearable heat which caused that all pileup operators had gradually “fainted”. This year cleverer, we want avoid all of this and make more connections and get a better result. There are things that remain the same, this year we also want to use the call sign 9A8RR in the MS HP category. But we are not going to the Alpe Adria contest, however, we may try out WSJT. The reason for this decision is that it is as hard as impossible to find accommodation for this period of time. After the contest we plan to visit some island for the WLH Award. Most possibly, it will be Plocice Island as last year and Proizd or Glavat Island. The final decision will depend on the immediate conditions. We would like to announce a competition for the OM, OK, 9A and EU zones
for the most successful operator in the number of realized connections with our stations.
The best three from each category will be awarded with nice prizes.
