Infrared remote control for Winamp Winamp
is great, but with one thing is missing: you must reach for a mouse or
keyboard if you want to pause, skip, decrease volume on your favorite
tracks. Here is a simple device which allows you to use any infrared remote
and control Winamp. Hardware plugs into COM port on your PC, decoding
is done by small software called Girder.
You need the DLL IgorPlug.dll
with it. Here
is the schematic:
IR sensor series TSOP17xx is used. Any type will work (TSOP11xx, TSOP17xx, SFH506...) Look for more info or datasheet on the net. I've modified original schematic for a simple reason: I had no 5V zener in my drawer, and 78L05 was rolling around :-) All components were soldered on small piece of perf board. Size fits into 9-pin D shell. Adhesive
tape holds the board in place Upper
side needs a little trimming Pictures (C) 2005 Tomislav Kordaso, 9A5TT |
