The Holy Father John Paul II has visited Republic of Croatia for the 3rd time. The city of Rijeka was his host town during his stay in Croatia. The fact that this was his 100th pastoral visit outside Vatican, has inspired members of radioclub "Rika" to activate a special call sign, 9A100IP. "IP" means John Paul in Croatian language. 9A100IP callsign was active from 5th June untill 9th June 2003. Club operators and guest operator Marko 9A7C have made over 1800 contacts using diferent modes (CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK) from 3.5MHz to 28MHz including WARC bands.We woud like to thanks to Croatian Telecomunication Authority for promt issue of Radio Licence and our member Emir 9A6AA for papers handling.
